Number 8 Turquoise Cabochon

This beautiful oval shaped webbed Number 8 Cabochon has a low top dome, side girdle and polished back. While the picture shows a part of the girdle and makes it appear misshapen, it is a perfect oval. It has a thin epoxy backing and has been professionally stabilized to provide strength and durability. It is not dyed or color enhanced. It weighs 5.0 grams and measures 23 x 18 x 7mm.
Number Eight turquoise is a highly prized variety of Nevada turquoise whose availability is limited because it has not been mined since the 1970s. Specimens generally feature soft blue turquoise in a spiderweb pattern popping out from a brown matrix.
Turquoise is related to the Throat Chakra and is the December Birthstone.
